The Midland Chemics ran one of their best team races of the season with four of the seven varsity runners setting new lifetime personal best times. The ladies finished in 8th place as a team at Saturday’s division 1 regional finals held at Delta College. They were paced by Maddie Isola’s 31st-place finish in a lifetime best of 20:23.74. She was followed by Nicole James in 51st (lifetime best of 21:13.76), Lauren McGuirk in 52nd, Emma Rudisel in 55th, Maddie Wenzel in 61st (lifetime best of 21:47.73). Jennifer Tsaras (lifetime best of 22:07.72) and Therese Joffre also competed in the season’s final race as varsity runners.

The rest of the ladies’ team ran later Saturday afternoon at the Post-Region Open Meet. The Chemics had an outstanding finish to their season with 11 of the 20 runners achieving lifetime best times on their way to a 3rd place team finish. Point scorers for Midland were Alyssa Chritz in 19th (lifetime best of 22:42.45), Erin Quinn in 22nd (lifetime best of 22:43.95), senior Maiah Jezak in 23rd (lifetime best of 22:48.53), Maddy Wittbrodt in 28th, and senior Morgan Hallberg in 31st (lifetime best of 23:30.39). Congratulations also go out to senior Sheridan Johnston for finishing with a lifetime personal best of 27:50.13 in her final race as a Chemic!
