The Chemic ladies ran very well against tough competition at the Division 1 Region 2 championships held at Delta College. The varsity team earned 250 points which was good for an 8th place finish. Maddie Isola once again finished as the top Midland runner with a time of 21:02.45 (36th). Jennifer Tsaras (21:19.71, 43rd), Madeline Wenzell (21:24.65, 47th), Josie Sokol (22:06.97, 61st), and Emma Rudisel (22:13.26, 63rd) rounded out the scoring runners for Midland. Rachel Mecca (new personal best time of 22:16.31) and Therese Joffre (22:36.45) rounded out the varsity runners.

The junior varsity ladies also competed on Saturday at the Post-Regional Open Meet also held at Delta College. No team scores were kept for this race but six of Midland’s seventeen runners set new lifetime personal best times including Maddie Lang, Alyssa Coventry, Rebekah Stanley, Alaina Butler, Eleanor Newcomb, and Ella McCoy.

A huge shout-out to this year’s eleven seniors for their hard work, enthusiasm, encouragement, and leadership on MHS cross country including Madeline Wenzell, Josie Sokol, Therese Joffre (4-year XC runner), Alyssa Chritz, Ella Trosin, Maddy Wittbrodt (4-year XC runner), Maddie Lang, Rebekah Stanley, Christina Owens (4-year XC runner), Alaina Butler (4-year XC runner), and Erika Leasher.
