Chemics Can’t Catch Up To Dow
Chemics fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 15-1 loss to Dow on Tuesday. Dow scored on a triple by McCoy, a stolen base, and a single by Nelson in the first inning.
The Chemics struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Dow, giving up 15 runs.
Dow opened up scoring in the first inning, when McCoy tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Dow scored four runs in the third inning. Patty, McCoy, Johnson, and Breuskie all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Patty led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Dow. He surrendered one run on two hits over three innings, striking out one.
Jackson Poole led things off on the hill for Chemics. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing five hits and ten runs while striking out one. Billy Powell threw two and two-thirds innings in relief.
Brendan Singer and Connor O’Malley all had one hit to lead Chemics.
Dow racked up ten hits on the day. Nelson, Breuskie, and McCoy all managed multiple hits for Dow. Nelson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Dow in hits. Dow tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Douglas led the way with six. Dow was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Nelson had the most chances in the field with eight.
