Chemics Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Chemics fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-0 loss to Dow on Tuesday. Dow scored on a single by Johnson, an error, and a single by Nelson in the first inning.
The Chemics struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Dow, giving up ten runs.
Dow got on the board in the first inning when Johnson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.
A single by Jackson Poole in the second inning was a positive for Chemics.
Johnson was on the hill for Dow. He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out ten and walking one.
AJ Harvey started the game for Chemics. He allowed eight hits and nine runs over three and a third innings, striking out five. Brendan Singer threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.
Poole and Jerrit Wagner each collected one hit to lead Chemics.
Johnson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Dow in hits. Dow didn’t commit a single error in the field. Patty had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
