Meet Recap

The Midland Chemic girls’ varsity cross-country team ran well this morning earning 3rd place out of 11 teams at the inaugural Freeland Invitational held at Stratford Woods. Saginaw Heritage won the girls’ race with 39 points followed by Midland Dow with 60 and Midland High with 98. Senior Emily Yoder earned a silver medal and led the Chemics with a 14th-place finish (21:19.06). Freshman Emma Rudisel and senior Riley Legge both earned bronze medals by finishing in 17th and 18th places respectively. Also earning points for Midland were sophomore Therese Joffre in 24th place and freshman Nicole James in 25th. Midland also finished 3rd in the JV race. and were paced by JV-champion Danbi Johnson (21:52.12). Other JV runners earning points for Midland included Maddy Wittbrodt, Tyra York, Alyssa Chritz, and Morgan Hallberg. Congratulations go out to Rebekah Stanley for setting a new lifetime personal record at today’s race! The ladies will face their next competition at the Saginaw Valley League final jamboree this Wednesday, October 18th, at 3 PM in Mt. Pleasant.

It was a tough loss last night for our JV soccer ending in 0-2 against Dow. MVP of the game was Aidan Wilber-Gauthier who played with complete Chemic Pride. Our boys had a winning season ending 6-3-1 in the conference. Nice job gentlemen.

Meet Recap

The Midland High School golf team finished its season today, shooting a 423 in the Regional competition and finishing in 10th place. The team was led by two sophomores. Meggie Gandy was again the team medalist, shooting a 90 and Katelyn Corrion shot her personal best for 18-holes with a 101. Juniors Megan Phillips and Allison Shepard scored for the team shooting 113 and 119 respectively. Junior Julia Gaffke also participated for the team with a 120.

Midland JV boys soccer outran John Glenn Bobcats 8-0. Evan King scored a hat trick, Robert Perry pounded two in the net, Connor Schelb, Ty Passalacqua, and Jack Sczepanski each with one goal.
