Girls Varsity Tennis · Wandor is Tennis Teammate of the Week

Teamwork is a hallmark of Chemic Pride.  Aristotle wrote, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Chemic Hall of Fame football and baseball coach Terry Wilczek often praised his teams for their ability to make 2 + 2 = 5.  In that spirit, Midland High School Athletics and Firehouse Subs on Eastman Ave in Midland are proud to recognize a teammate of the week who epitomizes selflessness and demonstrates a commitment to the success of his/her team.  Just because the spring sports are not playing any games in 2020 doesn’t mean that there is a lack of great teammates to honor.
This week’s honoree is a member of the girls tennis team, sophomore, Teresa Wandor.

Head coach MaryAnne Wright nominated her by writing, “Teresa’s dedication to improving her tennis game in the off season included taking lessons with pros at GMTC and by participating in MHS summer drill sessions.  She brought determination, hard work and a positive attitude to our tennis workouts. Teresa is such a pleasure to have around her teammates; ready to practice anytime with anyone and to assist others on technique. Last year, as a freshman, she stepped up from JV to compete in her first varsity matches in regionals when we needed a substitute.”

Teresa is the daughter of Dave and Mary Ann Wandor.
