#24   Hannah Smith

Hannah is a well-rounded individual who is involved in many activities outside of basketball including serving as the senior class president on Student Council, writing for the school newspaper as the sports editor, a member of Business Professionals of America, a member of National Honor Society, and a mentor for incoming freshman.  Hannah remains involved in these activities to continue bettering the school and community.  She also plans on playing tennis this spring.


Hannah has played basketball since 2nd grade, and won two state championships with her Fastbreak team in both 5th & 7th grades.  Hannah has been on the Varsity team here at Midland High for three years and has been named on the All-Academic team all three years.  Last year, Hannah was named Honorable Mention all-conference and 1st team all-area through the Midland Daily News.  Recently, Hannah was awarded the Scholar Athlete of the month through ESPN 100.9 FM and nominated three times this season as the Saginaw Area MLive player of the week.


Hannah plans to attend Hope College where she will be continuing her basketball career and pursuing a degree in global marketing, entrepreneurship, and communications.  Hannah plans on staying involved in school activities at Hope and growing in her faith.  Hannah would like to thank her family and friends who have supported her in all of her endeavors, and a special thank you to Coach Clobes for helping her expand her game and make her the best player she can be.




#44   Maddie Barrie



Maddie Barrie has been a four year varsity player at Midland High.  She started playing basketball through the Midland Community Center Rec League in second grade.   In 4th grade, Maddie began her AAU basketball career, winning state championships with both her 5th and 7th grade teams and multiple tournament championships with both Fastbreak and Michigan Storm.

Throughout Maddie’s high school career at Midland High, Maddie was selected AP All State Honorable Mention, Detroit News Honorable Mention, Saginaw Valley League (SVL) Conference First Team as a junior, SVL Conference Second Team as a sophomore and SVL Honorable Mention as a freshman along with being a two time Midland Daily News First Team selectee.


Maddie has always taken pride in her academics as well, carrying a 4.3 GPA.  She was named to the Saginaw Valley All-Academic Team each year as well as was selected Academic All State as a junior by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.  Maddie is an active member of the National Honor Society and has been a math tutor for students at Midland High.


She was also a member of the Midland High Varsity Track team as a freshman.  Outside of athletics, Maddie enjoys hanging out with her friends and family as well as spending time at her cottage on Mullett Lake.


Maddie plans to attend Grand Valley State University to continue her basketball career and pursue a degree in the medical field possibly in Physician Assistant studies or Nurse Anesthesia.





#22   Jeni Grinwis

Jeni has had a love for the game of basketball since she was in 1st grade.  She played 6 years of recreational basketball, 4 years of travel, 2 years in middle school and is now in her 4th year at Midland High School where she gets to show her team leadership as one of the captains.  Jeni has also participated on the Midland High volleyball and soccer teams.

Academically, Jeni has achieved a good GPA and has been on the honor roll all 4 years here at Midland High School.  Jeni loves her summer job at the Midland Community Center where she works as a camp counselor and is able to use her basketball knowledge to teach Midland youth the game of basketball.  Jeni also referees youth basketball leagues for the Midland Community Center.

Jeni will attend Delta College in the fall and plans to pursue a career in Pediatric Nursing.
