Meet Recap

The Midland Chemic boys’ varsity cross-country team had many excellent races on their way to a 3rd place finish in the inaugural Freeland Invitational held at Stratford Woods. Saginaw Heritage won the meet with 15 points followed by Montrose with 79 and Midland High with 86. Sophomore Tyler Pritchett led the team with a silver medal worthy 9th place finish (17:21.00). Senior Jacob Mutscher also earned silver medalist honors with a 14th place finish. Senior Kenny Steinhilber and junior Nathan Streitmatter earned bronze medals by finishing 18th and 20th respectively while junior Jacob Maschino rounded out the varsity point scorers for Midland with his 25th place finish. The Chemics also finished 3rd in the JV race with Henry Kessler, Alex Noey, Kevin Hoefer, Sam Yoder, and Seth Taylor scoring points to lead the way. Congratulations go out to Alex Koke for setting a new lifetime personal best in today’s race! The Chemics will face their next competition on Wednesday, October 18th, at the Saginaw Valley League final jamboree held in Mt. Pleasant. The boys are scheduled to race at 3:40 PM.
