Meet Recap

The Midland Chemics girls’ cross-country team ran very well, just missing the podium with a 3rd-place finish out of 11 teams in the large-school division at Saturday’s Heritage Invitational held at Imerman Park in Saginaw. The Varsity ladies earned 93 points to finish behind meet champion Saginaw Heritage (44 pts.) and second-place Alpena (91 pts.) while edging out Mt. Pleasant (95 pts.) and Midland Dow (118 pts.). The ladies were led by medalists Maddie Isola in 11th place (20:57.06), Emily Yoder (16th), and Riley Legge (19th). Emma Rudisel (22nd) and Ellie Wardell (25th) rounded out the top five for Midland. Midland’s JV team swept the top 3 places on their way to a first-place team finish in the JV division. They were led by Nicole James in 1st (22:20.38) followed by Ella Trosin (2nd) and Tyra York (3rd). Alyssa Chritz and Morgan Hallberg both set new lifetime personal-best times to round out the top five JV Chemics finishing in 8th and 12th respectively. Congratulations also go out to Christina Owens for setting a new lifetime best time in the JV race! The Chemics will face their next competition this coming Saturday, October 14th at the 1st annual Freeland Invitational held at Stratford Woods Park in Midland. The varsity is scheduled to run at 9:00 AM and the JV is scheduled for 10:20 AM.
