Meet Recap

The Chemic Girls’ Cross Country team had an outstanding race against some of the top teams in the state, including #1 Salem, at the DeWitt Invitational. The ladies finished in 6th place with 139 points only one point out of 5th place. The ideal weather conditions, beautiful course, and fast competition lead to thirteen of the ladies achieving new lifetime personal-best times! Freshman Maddie Isola led the scorers for Midland with a 24th place finish (personal-best time of 20:25.2). She was followed by freshman Emma Rudisel in 27th (personal-best time of 20:37.9), senior Emily Yoder in 38th, junior Ellie Wardell in 39th, and junior Danbi Johnson in 45th (personal-best time of 21:06.2). Particular congratulations go out to sophomore Therese Joffre breaking the 22-minute mark with a lifetime best of 21:57.9. Other personal-bests were achieved by Ella Trosin, Nicole James, Tyra York, Elizabeth Bott, Morgan Hallberg, Rebekah Stanley, Alaina Butler, and Trinity Looker. The Chemics will face their next competition when they return to Imerman Park in Saginaw for the Heritage Invitational next Saturday, October 7th. The varsity will run at 9:30 AM and the JV will run at 10:55 AM.
