The Chemic boys’ cross-country team had many outstanding performances on their way to a 2nd-place finish in the highly competitive DeWitt Invitational. The ideal weather conditions, beautiful course, and fast competition led to an incredible 24 lifetime personal-best times being achieved! The Chemics were led by senior Kenny Steinhilber’s 11th-place finish (lifetime personal-best of 17:14.2). Also scoring for Midland were senior Jacob Mutscher in 12th (lifetime personal-best of 17:16.9), junior Nathan Streitmatter in 17th (lifetime personal-best of 17:28.5), junior Jacob Maschino in 21st (lifetime personal-best of 17:33.2), and senior Drew Spencer in 24th (lifetime personal-best of 17:40.3). Congratulations to junior Connor Lynch for breaking 18 minutes for the first time with his new lifetime best of 17:53.4! Other Chemics achieving new lifetime personal-best times include Cauy George, Alex Noey, Sam Yoder, Kevin Hoefer, Seth Taylor, Marc Dean, Josh Maschino, Elliot Moore, Jeffrey Root, Nathan Striebel, Gabe Poprave, John Riley Herman, Lars George, Isaiah Bridges, Finn Moore, Will Shaffer, Jorge Ojinaga, and Carter Zalusky. The Chemics will return to racing action next Saturday, October 7th, at Imerman Park in Saginaw fot the Heritage Invitational. The varsity will run at 10:10 AM and the JV at 11:40 AM.
